The couple that bought this 3,800 square foot house in a charming Marin County town was relocating with their two young children from New York City to the San Francisco Bay Area. They hired GPSA to help realize their vision of renovating and expanding the current home, while retaining the original 1870’s cabin elements they had fallen in love with at the core of the house.

We completely rebuilt the structure, maintaining the cabin feel while creating a new family room and bedrooms on the lower level and a new central staircase, all designed to fit within the original fabric of the existing house.

We collaborated with landscape designer Frederika Moller and with London-based interior designer Rita Konig, who infused every room with her characteristic quirky charm.
